Mass Feature

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 25, 2009, 2:21 PM
For the first 20 people who comment on this journal, I will choose 3 deviations from each of your galleries that I like the most and feature them on this journal! But in exchange, you have to do the same tag in your journal.

:iconvagabondqad:
Heya Sooty! Thanks for all those faves dearest ^-^ I read about Nugget, but on the bright side at least you caught it early. My aunt's ponies got rain rot on them during the late summer (it wouldn't stop raining for weeks >.< ) and the poor babies had nasty sores on them before we could get it treated >.<
Luckily, we both can reverse the damage done. Tell Nugget I hope he gets better soon!
:iconsooty-bunnie:
Yea hes getting pissed at having to live on hay n being in a small area but already he is losing weight and walking a bit better. I just lucky we got it then I been so busy studying I not gone out and seen him as much so he could have gone down hill so fast without me noticing.
So heres to reversing damage and getting everyone better :D
:iconvagabondqad:
Here here!
If Nugget had foundered, what would have happened? Would the damage be irreversible then? What damage would be done, do you know?
:iconsooty-bunnie:
Foundering is the same as laminates pretty much but if they founder it is usefully because they are too fat and there is to much toxins in them. it causes their gut to swell and not break food down properly and the toxins in the grass go to their hooves and turn them soft, pink/red and they pretty much fall apart from the inside out and the pain kills them. when they get to a bad stage you cant get the damage done to the hoves to be fixed and a lot of horses that founder are put to sleep before the pain kills them. also once a horse has got there before it is very and i mean very easy for them to get back there. it is more common in ponies as they tend to over eat more than horses. I have seen a pony be put to sleep because of it before. she only needed half an hour on grass to founder so was put down as being kept on dirt for the rest of her life was unfair and she was so sore. You thats my best explanation lol I not the best want any more ask a farrier they no it really well as they will see it a lot mine said he sees 3 cases a week and much worse then nugget a lot of them dying. Or look it up founder/laminates
:iconvagabondqad:
Thanks for the info. I knew founder affected the feet and could make a horse lame but that was about it, lol. :)

Thanks for the fave on A Year to Forget. :aww:
